What Does It Take To Be Successful?

What Does It Take To Be Successful?

How do I become a successful player?

Have to want it?
Have to set goals?
Have to work hard?
Have to focus on the process?

The truth is that none of these things will make you successful because a lot of people do these things.

If you want to be a successful player you need to start with a contrarian idea.

Something that a lot of people think is wrong but in reality is actually right

Let's look at 3 of the most successful business people of all time and how their contrarian ideas paid off big time

Steve Jobs

In 1976 Steve Jobs Founded Apple on the belief that some day everyone would have a personal computer on their desk and in their home

This was long before anyone had any real clue what a computer could actually do or how it could actually benefit someone

Not to mention they were insanely expensive

Larry Page & Sergey Brin

In 1998 Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded Google on the idea that if you stripped away all of the excessive information that slows web pages down and just served people quality results people would love it

At the time Yahoo ruled the search market, and as a matter of fact whenever they tested their search engine people would often time wait for the rest of the page to load before they typed in their search

The simple, fast, design that delivered quality results won

Warren Buffet

In 1965 Warren Buffet founded Berkshire Hathaway on the simple idea that he wasn’t going to time the market or look at a lot of the short term activity of a stock.

He would only purchase companies based on their overall potential as a company then just be patient in a market on impatience

What does this have to do with hitting?

In all of these examples people thought these men were crazy

Except they weren’t and it paid off big

If you want to become an elite hitter you have to start with a contrarian idea, have the confidence to ride it out, then be right about it!

What does my contrarian view about hitting look like?

Don’t prioritize mechanics

Instead prioritize underlying action capacities then train it in representative environments such that it has the greatest potential to transfer to in game success

Am I crazy?

Am I right?

I guess only time will tell
